This specialized clinical skills testing facility for the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), a national medical testing agency, is located in the Science Center of Philadelphia. Twenty-four testing exam rooms with distinct and private circulation paths for examinees, proctors, and standardized patients were carefully located in this unique 1970’s office building.Design challenges included providing a calming but cheerful environment for the examinees, privacy for the standardized patients, and streamline controls for the staff to facilitate and monitor testing.
