Tioga Station, SEPTA
Historic Preservation, Transportation

Constructed around the turn of the last century, the stations on the Frankford Elevated Subway line were in a state of disrepair. These elevated stations were redesigned to meet the modern day building code requirements and operational standards. Compliance to the Americans with Disabilities Act was important factor in the new station layout including the insertion of two elevators, updated signage, and exit stairs. Situated at the midpoint of the Frankford Line in the corner of an urban park, the existing Tioga outbound station entrance building was renovated to respect and preserve the distinctive attributes of this turn-of-the-century landmark.

Completion: 1989
Location:  Philadelphia, PA
120,000 Sq.Ft.
