The campus of United Cerebral Palsy consists of several brick and stone masonry buildings of converted manufacturing space. The complex had several remote entrances for clients, staff, and visitors. Departments were linked by winding circulation paths, stitched between several structures. The goal of this project was to create a singular point of entry that would allow for more control of access, unite the various campus buildings, improve internal circulation, and create a dynamic common space. The solution is a main entrance pavilion of glass and metal to unify the campus structures. The porte-cochere and adjacent canopies provide protected areas for arrival. An atrium accommodates a reception kiosk, client waiting areas, and visitor orientation. The bright and welcoming entry pavilion unites three wings in an indoor “town square.”
